Richard has over 12 years’ experience of managing participation and learning programmes within the formal cultural sector and is recognised as having delivered one of the UK’s most advanced museum and gallery community outreach programmes.
This work has consistently innovated within areas of social justice, health inequality and community safety and has received recognition through the National Audit Commission, Youth Justice Board Quality Assurance review and Beacon Council Scheme.
He has extensive experience of delivering strategic commissioning programmes, most notably being a founding partner of en-quire commissioned by engage in partnership with Arts Council England, DCMS and DFES. Since 2007 he has been the Culture Lead for the IDEA National Beacon Peer Support Advisory Panel.
An Arts Award adviser, he has a particular specialism in commissioning programmes targeted at those young people outside of formal learning environments, in particular those who are NEET and/ or engaged within youth justice settings.
