Ruth was recently the Project Manager for the Hampshire and Solent Alliance of Museums and before that was Programme Manager for Learning Skills and Community Engagement for Renaissance SE.
Prior to that Ruth was Head of Education at the RHS where she led the education team of 30+ staff covering schools, outreach, family and adult learning, qualifications and horticultural trainees across four gardens. Ruth increased school visit numbers from 6,000 to 25,000 children in two years and developed the RHS Campaign for School Gardening (www.rhs.org.uk/schoolgardening ) which has over 14,000 schools signed up. Ruth joined the RHS after 14 years with the National Trust as Learning Advisor.
Ruth worked at the Natural History Museum, Chelsea Physic Garden and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew before joining the National Trust. Ruth is chair of the Association for Heritage Interpretation, an advisor to Chelsea Physic Garden, and a keen singer (amateur) in three choirs.
