“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”
We are running a series of creative enterprise workshops for young people aged 16-25, on Tuesday 16th May, Tuesday 13th June, Tuesday 11th July and Tuesday 25th July, from 9.45 am–4 pm at the Southampton office: 1st floor, Latimer House, 5-7 Cumberland Place, Southampton SO15 2BH.
- Are you interested in art, music, drama, dance, design, or craft?
- Have you ever thought about making a career out of your passions?
- Perhaps you would like to use your creativity to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or the environment?
- Do you have ideas but are unsure what to do next?
- Perhaps you need some financial support to help launch your project idea?
These workshops will explore what is meant by entrepreneurialism and you will learn about budgeting for projects, planning, the benefits of partnership working and social enterprise.
You will hear from other young entrepreneurs who have succeeded in launching projects, companies and social enterprises and get the chance to bid for financial support to help turn your idea into a project.
We will introduce you to different creative careers and progression routes in the creative industries, provide CV writing support and advice on interview techniques.
You will also be supported to achieve Arts Award qualifications in Silver or Gold as a further 5 workshops will be held throughout August and September (dates TBC). There is additional Arts Award adviser Training available for those who are interested in supporting children and other young people to achieve their Explore and Discover Arts Awards in the future.
Come and share your ideas, work with us to expand them further and we will give you training and support to help you shape ideas into projects!
All reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed and a buffet lunch provided each day.
