In January, Artswork’s Strategic Manager Lucy gave an “Industry Insights” talk to faculty at  Winchester School of Art’s Department of Art and Media Technology as part of its curriculum development process. Lucy’s brief was to address the skills and knowledge a graduate will need in the future, how the landscape is changing, and what the threats and opportunities are.

Dr Dan Ashton (Associate Professor of Cultural and Creative Industries) said:

“It was wonderful welcoming Lucy to the Department of Art and Media Technology and exploring priorities and approaches for creative industries curriculum development. Lucy’s insights on skills, geographies, inequalities, and freelance working generated enthusiastic discussion from colleagues working on a range of subject areas that will inform future planning. It was also hugely interesting and beneficial to engage with perspectives from Artswork’s youth-led research and mentoring projects”

Artswork was delighted to have this opportunity contribute to Higher Education thinking about graduate employability and to deepen faculty’s understanding of cultural and creative industry skills gaps.
