Congratulations to Chichester Festival Theatre and Carousel for being named as part of this year’s 10 Arts Award Good Practice Centres. We are very proud to work with them on a variety of programmes in the region and want to wish them all the best as they continue to be excellent examples of Arts Award facilitators in the South East.
Chichester Festival Theatre’s Learning, Education and Participation department (LEAP) has been awarded Good Practice Centre 2017/18 status for Arts Award, the nationwide qualification for young people, administered by Arts Council England and Trinity College London.
LEAP has taken a prominent lead in Arts Award accreditation opportunities for children and young people across the region since 2012: hosting and coordinating forums and training events, and providing opportunities for young people to gain the Award through youth theatre activities, apprenticeships, holiday activities and schools projects. A total of 135 Arts Awards were achieved through the Festival Theatre last year.”
