Councils involved in Love Local Arts project shortlisted for national award

Artswork are delighted that Arun District Council and Littlehampton Town Council have been shortlisted for the Best Arts Project Award, a category in the Hearts for the Arts Awards 2022, for their Love Local Arts project.

Hearts for the Arts is an award by National Campaign for the Arts and is to celebrate local authorities who carry out extraordinary work for the arts in difficult circumstances.

The Love Local Arts project took place in Littlehampton’s across summer 2021, which saw a 11 events take place, including a photography competition, a battle acted out by Chichester Festival Youth Theatre and a spray art workshop.

Of the shortlisting, Arun Inspires Programme Manager, Beccy East, said:

“It’s brilliant to have the partnership that’s at the heart of the Arun Inspires cultural investment programme  – between Artswork and Arun District Council – recognised on a national level. We are proud of the opportunities and activities the programme is making possible for the children and young people of Arun and it’s wonderful to see their work be part of this inspiring field of shortlisted projects.”

The winner of the award will be announced on the 14th of February.
