Government announces national ‘youth integration’ network

A national network of youth integration champions is to be established as part of government efforts to give young people from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to join national youth groups, it has been announced.

A total of £250,000 has been awarded to Youth United Foundation to establish the network and develop long-term approaches to creating lasting relationships between young people from different backgrounds.

The initiative, which will aim to boost membership of uniformed groups such as Scouts, Police Cadets, and Girlguiding is part of the government’s Integrated Communities Strategy in targeted areas of England.
