In January, MAKE, Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership, organised an event bringing together teachers from across the city with arts cultural and heritage organisations.

Hosted by Great Linford Primary School, the event was carefully organised as a carousel to allow each school the opportunity to talk to each organisation. To enable them to identify opportunities to work together through visits, projects or common priorities.

Artswork’s BOBMK team, Ruth Taylor, Strategic Manager, and Eleanor Markland, Education Development Manager, attended along with a wide range of local cultural organisations including MK Islamic Heritage, The Parks Trust, the city’s museums, theatre and arts centres.

A similar event, also successful, had been held virtually in 2021 but it was great to have the opportunity to meet face-to-face, to re-establish contact with some, put faces to email addresses with others and also to make some new connections. The amount of conversation in the room suggests that there is real enthusiasm in both sectors working together in 2023.
