With support from Artswork and the DfE, Southampton Cultural Education Partnership (SCEP) is delivering Schools Connect, a programme of work for up to 10 schools (Primary and Secondary) in Southampton over the 2019/20 academic year.

To launch this offer, and to give your school the opportunity to customise a cultural programme to suit your needs, SCEP is hosting a Cultural Expo on Wednesday 8th May at NST:Campus, from 4.15pm – 6.00pm.

The Expo will set out the variety of benefits that the Schools Connect project has to offer, as well as giving you the chance to meet cultural organisations and gain a sense of what your school might be able to achieve through collaboration with them.

The Schools Connect programme

  • Tailored cultural opportunities for up to 48 children to:
    • Take part in workshops with arts and cultural practitioners
    • Visit an exhibition, gallery or museum
    • See a performance, concert or piece of dance
  • Artsmark development opportunities
  • Arts Award training and subsidy for moderation

“SCEP’s aim is that in working together with the wealth of Southampton’s cultural organisations, it will create a wider range of cultural activities and experiences for children and young people in the city. Schools Connect aims to open up, connect and galvanise what an integrated cultural offer might look like for Southampton.” (Rupert Rowbotham, Head of Engagement, Nuffield Southampton Theatres)
