Music Events Assistant Apprentice (Reading), Berkshire Music Trust

Salary: £8 per hour (£300 per week)
Hours: 9 to 17.30pm 5 days a week (some evening and weekend work may be required.)
Location: Berkshire Music Trust, Reading
Contract: This is a 15 month fixed term apprenticeship placement with the possibility of continued employment dependent on the councils funding situation at the time.This is an exciting opportunity to join the Berkshire Music Trust team as an Event Assistant supporting them to deliver an exciting range of projects including:·
·       Music workshops in schools and for community groups across Berkshire
·       Young Orchestra and Band Performance
·       Singing Festivals and choir rehearsals
·       Music classes in school settingsThe role will involve:
·       Planning events
·       Supporting with the set-up and running of events
·       Contacting artists and schools
·       Promotion and marketing events
·       Assisting with evaluations of projectsTo provide the Music Service with administrative and practical events support. The role will include:
·       Gathering facts and collating information in response to an event needs
·       Working with a team to plan for events, festivals and workshops
·       Being involved in the full lifecycle of an event including project planning, running events and evaluation
·       Researching venues, catering, logistics and event resources
·       Assisting with marketing and promotions for the events
·       Welcoming, registering and supporting event attendees
·       Contributing to reports, written communications and participating in post-event feedback sessionsThis Apprenticeship will include a training element to help you successfully achieve a Level 3 Event Assistant Apprenticeship Standard. This training will be managed by Artswork and will include:

  • Health and safety in work place and other induction certificates
  • Online training 1 day per fortnight with Artswork and training in the workplace with your employer
  • Independent training tasks to be completed in peer groups with other Apprentices

The Apprentice will be part of a team of learners based in creative organisations across the South. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to benefit from a range of additional opportunities including Arts Award, CV writing and interview skills session and other accredited and non-accredited training opportunities.

Interviews will be held week commencing 6 May, with a proposed start date of 20 May.
