Cultural Education Partnerships

Supporting Arts Council England's Cultural Education Challenge

We supported Arts Council England’s Cultural Education Challenge: a call for arts, culture and education sectors to join together to offer an arts and cultural education for all children and young people, regardless of background or circumstance. As part of this work, we are supporting a number local Cultural Education Partnerships in the South East.

Cultural Education Partnerships were able to be responsive to local needs, with high-level support from senior leaders and decision-makers in their area. Together, we encouraged sector leaders to create new, joined-up ways of working and sharing resources.

Local Cultural Education Partnerships (CEPs) were launched nationally in 2015 in response to Arts Council England’s Cultural Education Challenge. There are now 118 locality-specific partnerships established across the country, with 16 in the South East. We have compiled an infographic to show the impact of South East CEPs from 2015 – 2022.

Resources for Cultural Education Partnerships

We have created a set of resources to support CEPs in their planning, evolution and strategic conversations. Based on an evaluation carried out in, topics include building partnerships, leadership and governance, working with schools, fundraising and evaluation.
