Abi joined Artswork in November 2014 as Communications Officer: Marketing and Events. Having grown up near Southampton, Abi moved away from the area to study for a Music degree, with a focus on performance, at Lancaster University. It was during her time in Lancaster that she first gained experience of arts marketing and event production, when she took on the role of Publicity Officer for the university’s music society. This varied role included everything from producing society posters and concert programmes to helping out with the setting up and running of performances, including a memorably frantic Sunday morning tracking down hundreds of multi-coloured balloons for an event that evening – not easy in a city mostly made up of charity shops!
After university, she spent a number of years living and working in Birmingham, where she undertook a communications internship with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and worked as the Communications Assistant for Town Hall & Symphony Hall, two music venues in the city centre.
Abi plays both the piano and the clarinet, and in her spare time enjoys baking, listening to a wide variety of music and watching trashy TV shows.
