Anne Colvin

Freelance dance artist

Anne Colvin is a freelance dance artist based in Brighton. As a choreographer and dance educationalist she has a wide range of experience working within education and community sectors, providing training courses as well as planning and delivering creative dance workshops and projects for children, young people and adults with and without disabilities. She has trained on and been a trainer for South East Dance’s Creative Dance Apprenticeships course working with young people at risk, within youth arts, and has been a key contributor in developing South East Dance’s Disability Programme.

Anne has directed large-scale youth dance and community projects for theatre and site specific venues and regularly collaborates with artists in other fields on professional and community projects and performances. She is currently developing an in-service training programme in partnership with English Heritage for historic sites in the southeast region and is training as an NVQ assessor. Anne is an expert in “safe touch” child protection issues, and co-trains on the Artsplan ‘Creating Safety: child protection and youth arts’ course.
