Arts Award Leadership Network Mentor

Christie is the Director of Engage for Reading Rep Theatre where she oversees all the company’s Engage work, which is the work done to ensure that everything Reading Rep does is accessible to all and nurtures the talent of artists and emerging artists within the town, as well as directing work for the company too.

She has embedded Arts Award into Reading Rep’s delivery, having worked closely with Activate Learning to offer Performing Arts students opportunities to achieve at Bronze, Silver and Gold level, as well as working with neurodiverse children and young people to achieve Discover and Explore awards. She sits on Reading’s Cultural Education Partnership and is the Arts Award lead. She has been on the Arts Award Leadership Network for 2 years.

Christie also sits on the Board of the National Association of Youth Theatre.

Before coming to Reading she was part of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company in Edinburgh and worked throughout the UK and internationally as a facilitator and director. She received a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship for her work delivering theatre in prisons and won the Bruce Miller Award for Directing. Christie has a MEd in Learning and Teaching the Performing Arts and a BA(Hons) in Contemporary Theatre Practice from the RSAMD (now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland).
