Jay Mendivil
Freelance Creative Project Manager and Trainer
Jay has over 20 years’ experience of developing and delivering creative and cultural projects. She brings a wealth of facilitation experience, has worked closely with boards and staff teams to develop organisations and began writing and delivering Artswork training courses in 2007.
Working on behalf of Live Music Now, she is managing their Lullaby Projects in Wales – which pair mothers suffering from perinatal mental health issues with professional musicians with the aim of developing parent-child attachment through the creation of their own personal lullaby. Jay is hugely passionate about the impact that arts can have on people’s lives and in 2011 she led the Artswork National Campaign ‘Youth Arts Transforms Lives – FACT!’.
Previously Head of Operations at Turner Sims Southampton (a nationally renowned concert hall) and having undertaken senior management roles spanning programming, operations and continuing professional development, Jay brings substantial experience in managing projects and events; safeguarding, partnership working, communications, financial management, fundraising, organisational development, governance, arts and health/wellbeing, evaluation and using arts as a tool for consultation.
