Lucy Marder (She/Her)

Head of Business Development

Lucy joined Artswork in 2018 as a Strategic Manager in the Bridge programme and since April 2023 has been Artswork’s Head of Business Development. Lucy’s goal is to drive business growth so that we can empower more children and young people through creativity.

In her first career, as a museum curator, Lucy launched two new public art galleries that each contributed to their museums winning ‘Museum of the Year.’  Lucy then refocused on organisational and workforce development. Lucy spent 7 years with leadership development consultancy NTS Ltd, leading on the expansion of the business into the Government and voluntary sector markets and establishing the company’s office in Australia. Lucy subsequently went on to a series of public sector change agent roles in Australia and the UK followed by nearly a decade in sector support roles in the cultural sector. With twenty years’ experience as a consultant, coach and facilitator, Lucy loves working with individuals, organisations and partnerships to help them find their focus, embrace change and make positive impact in the world. She is the author of the South East Museum Development Programme’s ‘Cultural Partnerships Toolkit’.

Lucy holds Chartered Management Consultant status, the highest accreditation in management consulting, in recognition of demonstrable positive impact in the field, ethical practice and client focus. Lucy also holds an MBA from Lancaster University, the ILM Level 7 Diploma in Leadership Mentoring and Executive Coaching and Level 5 Certificate in Social Enterprise Support. Lucy is accredited to administer a range of workplace psychometrics.

Outside work, Lucy enjoys cooking, sailing, walking, theatre trips and reading; wrangles a family and spirited pets; and volunteers at her local urban green space.
