Ronda Gowland Pryde
Arts Award Leadership Network Mentor
Dr. Ronda Gowland-Pryde is an independent engagement and research consultant/professional with over 20 years of working in Arts and Culture and Higher Education. A founding member of the Arts Award Leadership Network, Ronda is passionate about holistic applications of Arts Award to better the life chances of children and young people. Through the Arts Award Leadership Network, Ronda has mentored a range of creative organisations in a variety of different art form genres and contexts.
Formerly, the Head of Engagement and Research at John Hansard Gallery (2000-2018), Ronda has been an Arts Award Advisor since 2007 across all levels from: Discover, (piloting Discover and Explore for Trinity in 2010), to Gold (supporting Hampshire’s first Gold Arts Award recipient in 2009). Experienced in working with Arts Award in diverse learning settings and learning needs of children, young people and young adults. With particular expertise in working with Arts Award in youth offending settings, Ronda has given talks about this area of work for Tate Modern/Tate Exchange, Arts Council and Engage/Engage Cymru (National Association of Gallery Education).
In 2014, Ronda received a MARSH Award for excellence and innovation in gallery education from the National Association of Gallery Education. Ronda’s doctorate from the University of Southampton (awarded 2017), explored the; impact that a Gallery-supported Arts Award programme has on young people who have offended: a biographical study.
