Youth-Led Artist’s Commission Call - Dover (Kent Wildlife)

Artswork in partnership with young cultural changemakers in Dover are looking to commission a local professional artist to work in collaboration to create an artistic intervention for a community site.

Up to £8000 is available for this work to include the artist’s time, materials, construction costs, installation costs, travel, expenses and VAT.

Deadline for responses: 10:00 on Monday 28 October 2024

Brief

The artist will work with young people from Kent Wildlife’s Blue Influencer groups (up to 20 young people aged 10 to 18) in Dover. The collaboration will support the creation of an outside nature inspired artwork sited at a shared community hub and garden. The artist will work directly alongside young people on Monday evenings, with potential for weekend sessions, and will host consultation sessions with participants to support them in designing a public artwork for or around the community hub or gardens they use. Following the design phase, the artist will host workshops that create a plan for the final artwork before the finalising designs that will be voted on by the young people involved. The artist and participants will then create the final artwork(s), with the young people contributing to the creation phase of at least part of the work.
