Through the Kickstart Scheme, Artswork is pleased to offer a comprehensive wrap-around support and training package, accessible to organisations across the UK. We understand that employers need an employee ready to work hard, be motivated, inquisitive and interested, not only in their role but the workplace and industry they find themselves in.
At Artswork we use creative practice to enhance our training opportunities. As well as building skills and knowledge, we will challenge participants to be creative problem solvers and curious, engaged team members. For many, this will be their first ever job and we have developed an outstanding offer to support personal and professional development.
The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create hundreds of thousands of 6-month work placements for young people aged 16-24. Those who are eligible for the scheme will be supported by their Jobcentre Plus work coach to enrol. This national Government funding is available for jobs, covering the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
There is also funding available to support young people to develop new skills and help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart funded job. This is a £1,500 sum to support positive experiences for both employee and employer, intended for training, equipment and overheads.
Artswork is a sector leader in creative employment and pre-employability opportunities for young people. For over 20 years we have designed and delivered programmes to empower and progress young people’s skills, experience and confidence through working. Our wrap-around training includes wellbeing sessions to ensure resilience, and mentoring support to motivate, challenge and help employees navigate their new workplace. The training will take place within cohorts, meaning your young person is also building networks and learning with peers.
Our complete approach to training supports employee retention and gives you the opportunity to focus on the job. With our training your new employee will quickly become a valuable member of your team.
Artswork’s wrap-around support offer also includes:
- Individual goal setting
- Introduction to the workplace
- Communication in the workplace
- Health & Safety in the workplace
- Next steps
In addition, trainees will also have access to monthly one hour skills surgeries.
All Artswork’s Kickstart training and mentoring opportunities are Covid-secure and will be delivered online so employees can either do this from home or their place of work, making the most of their Kickstart opportunity whatever the situation.
Access to Artswork’s support and training package will cost employers £1000 per participant (paid through the training element of the Kickstart funding). Training will be spread across the full 6 months.
