Youth-led artwork commission for Bognor Regis Hotham Park Underpass

Artswork and young cultural changemakers in Arun are working in partnership with West Sussex County Council, Arun District Council, Bognor Regis Town Council, West Sussex Youth Offending Team and the Safer Arun Partnership to commission a local artist or collective of artists to collaborate with, train and inspire young people on an ambitious Young Cultural Changemakers project in Bognor Regis. 

The Hotham Park subway is a 35m long underpass that has frequently been a target for anti-social behaviour. The partners involved in the project have come together with the ambition to reimagine the space as a gallery for local young peoples’ work and a showcase for professional street art, using it as a vehicle for the creative and leadership development of local children and young people (aged 10 – 19).

To apply please send a short (2p A4 maximum) expression of interest responding to the Artist Specification above and a CV which can include up to 5 images or a link to a website. 

Applications must be received by email to rebeccaeast@​artswork.​org.​uk by 10:00 Monday 21 July 2025.  

Applicants will be scored against the criteria above by the selection panel which includes young people involved in the project. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on Friday 25 July 2025. Interviews are likely to take place via Zoom – please let us know if we can offer any access support to facilitate your attendance.
