Summer holidays are in full swing, and we’ve rounded up our favourite exciting arts, culture, and heritage activities to keep the children entertained.

Puppetry Workshops with Touched Theatre

We have worked with Touched Theatre as part of HM70 Jubilee celebrations to produce a unique puppetry workshop that you and your children can access online and use to stage performances. The collection of videos and PDF resources explore how different communities around the world use food and creativity to mark special occasions, reflecting the role that they have played through the Queen’s reign.

Space Cadets ONLINE – Summer Sessions – The National Space Centre

Space Cadets ONLINE – Summer 60-minute sessions on Aliens and Astronaut Training are the perfect opportunity; including talks, craft ideas, downloadable resources and engaging content to support home learning, they cost just £4 per household.

It features 11 toe-tapping original songs composed by Portsmouth Music Hub’s composition team that encourages learning while singing and exploring.

Their website not only features a map, but also fact and activity sheets to enrich your journey.

Vegetable Orchestra Resource

In 2020, we collaborated with SoCo Music Project to host an exclusive Vegetable Orchestra workshop for staff, children and young people from South East settings on their Artsmark journey. This summer you could create carrot whistles, pepper shakers and courgette castanets, whilst learning about interesting world instruments made from organic matter, just like the soothing sound of bamboo panpipes.
