Folkestone’s A Sense of Place project

As part of Artswork’s Teaching Schools investment programme, Shepway Teaching Schools alliance worked with the Creative Foundation and in particular, permanent artworks from the Folkestone Triennial, over the course of a year to develop a local area curriculum, titled A Sense of Place.

Dr Jonathan Barnes from Canterbury Christchurch University acted as adviser and evaluator of the programme, and wrote a report entitled Arts Building Hope, Motivation and Engagement in the locality of Folkestone, which is now available as a case study here.
