Three young people holding paper cup Diwali lanterns they made for a Diwali parade

Rushmoor

Our work in Rushmoor, empowering young people to lead and make change in their communities through creativity.

What impact have Changemakers in Rushmoor made so far?

They helped to plan, prepare for and participate in Rushmoor’s first ever Diwali Parade

150 changemakers from Talavera Infant and Junior schools worked with Nutkhut and Caroline Rackham to connect creativity and culture. They made lanterns to display during the procession and spoke about the importance of creative learning and storytelling, as well as incorporating youth voice into creative practices.

  • Three dancers dancing in colourful Diwali outfits with a large lotus lantern and two large Diwali puppets in the background
  • Primary school children in school uniform listening in assembly
  • Two young people holding hands as they walk together at a Diwali Parade

It’s a privilege supporting the young people of the New Forest and Rushmoor to discover the transformative power of their voice and ideas. Working alongside them on projects that celebrate creative empowerment is a joy, and seeing just how much of an impact they are having in local communities makes it all the better!
