Reality Check: a series on youth voice for professionals

An event series on youth voice for professionals

BuildING confidence to empower young voices and leaders in your organisation

A series of interactive and inspiring online events, delivered in partnership with Norfolk and Norwich Festival Connect & Create and supported by Arts Council England South East. Reality Check: was a four part event series that explored the benefits, challenges and practicalities of enabling youth voice and youth leadership in organisations.

The programme was designed to help develop confidence to embed youth voice at work. The programme helped to clarify why organisations might want to enable youth voice, and through practical tasks, see how you they could turn what they were learning each session into achievable actions for their organisation.

During the series, there was the opportunity to hear from organisations that have already engaged young people in decision-making processes and are empowering them to become agents of change, and from some of those young people themselves. As well as learning from their experiences and best practices, participants joing these sessions had the chance to network with other organisations who share their vision and passion.

Whether organisations were new to the concept of youth voice or already had some initiatives in place, this series of events provided them with valuable insights and practical tools to take their work to the next level.

Although these sessions have now completed, we’ve put together a helpful resource which brings all of the information from these sessions into note form, which can be used by organisations looking to take the first step in their youth empowerment journey or improving on something they’re already actioning.
