A large sign with a forest like design and a quote in the middle that reads: As the penguin rides across the sea, Whilst I sat in the depressing seat, glistening scales shine through the sea. I found a tree that spoke to me. Pretty little butterfly fly around the blue sky... what a day to be alive.

Cippenham Contact Centre

Care-experienced young people wanted to create a warm, comforting space for their contact centre.

The young people chose to work with artist, Jho for this project in creating a warm, inviting space for their contact centre.

The young people spent the first half of the session drawing fantasy animals, they would draw one side, and the next person would add in rotation and complete the animals. This was followed by a poetry session that the young people curated together forming a sentence which was formed as a group. The day was spent painting the fantasy animals that were created at the beginning of the day to create a welcoming forest.

The young people wanted to create a feeling of comfort and the sense of belonging for the space, sharing the message that everyone is welcome and accepted. This creative art work is now hanging in reception for everyone that enters to see, feel welcomed and at ease.
