Youth-led street art mural, Bognor Regis
We are looking for a local street artist or collective of artists to work in collaboration with children and young people on the design and installation of large street art mural in Bognor Regis as part of the youth-led Hotham Underpass regeneration project, Project 39.
Artswork in partnership with young cultural changemakers in Arun, West Sussex Youth Justice Service, The Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner and Arun District Council are looking to commission a local professional street artist to work in collaboration with young people on the design and installation of a large mural as part of the youth-led Hotham Underpass regeneration project, Project 39.
Young people we are working with in Bognor want to transform the Hotham Underpass using art by local children – collected through an open call and installed as large vinyl transfers – alongside a professional street art mural.
The key themes they want Project 39 to express are
- Explosions of colour, light (neon) and ideas
- The things we LOVE (and hate) about Bognor: what makes our town our town
- What makes us feel proud
They would like to work with a street artist – who will have responsibility for up to 10m on both sides of the 36m tunnel, which could be in any configuration – to conceive a mural that interacts with and builds on the children’s art exhibited there.
Young people – working with the local Youth Justice Service – would like to work alongside the artist in the installation of the art work in November 2025 and develop new skills.
The selected artist must be willing to meet with a cohort of young people to finalise and agree their design ideas, as well as welcoming small groups of young people in working parties to support the installation.
Up to £5000 is available for this work to include the artist’s time, materials, making and installation costs, travel, expenses and VAT.

Applicants will be scored against the criteria above by the selection panel which includes young people involved in the project.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on Monday October 20th.Interviews will ideally be in-person at the 39 Club, Church Path, Bognor Regis.
