Delve into the impact of RISE 2023 with a new case study exploring the creative journeys of three of the 21 young creatives in last years programme.

The RISE funding scheme, offering support for young creatives in the South of England, has been instrumental in the artistic journeys of Komas, Dani, and Daisy. In this case study we will explore their experiences on the programme, which awarded 21 young people aged 13-25 £500 micro investments to support and enhance their creative practices. Their stories highlight the importance of programmes like RISE in nurturing the next generation of creatives. The programme’s first year saw a wealth of talent, ambition, and originality, with recipients like Dani, Daisy, and Komas using the funds to achieve creative goals, improve their confidence, and take steps towards their artistic futures.

Komas, a 14-year-old artist and photographer whose work spans multiple artforms and genres, used the funding to purchase software and equipment for his photography practice. Dani, 23, a singer/songwriter with a passion for bringing music and songwriting to her local community, used the funding to purchase recording equipment to create a home studio. 15-year-old fashion designer Daisy was able to buy her own sewing machine and textile materials to dedicate more time to bringing her fashion designs off the page and into real life.

You can read the full case study here to find out about the impact that this had on their creative practices and beyond, and see the three artists featured in the RISE 2023 film here.

RISE 2024 is now underway, with 25 impressive young creatives currently in the midst of their creative projects. If you are interested in updates, follow us on Instagram and TikTok where we will be sharing content from six programme ambassadors.
