Winners of Picture Littlehampton challenge now on display in Littlehampton Museum
Date Created: 13th Oct 2021
Over summer 2021, we teamed up with Littlehampton Town Council and Arun District Council, with support from Littlehampton Organisation of Community Arts (LOCA), to present the LOVE Local Arts festival of pop-up family events in Littlehampton. As part of this, residents were encouraged to take part in Picture Littlehampton – a community photography challenge organised by local arts organisations Corridor.
The challenge as for entries in three categories; most colourful, surprising and inventive photographs of Littlehampton. The winners in each category can be seen in the Museum Gallery, along with a show reel of all the wonderful submissions. The display, now on in the Hearne Gallery, presents fresh perspectives and alternative views of Littlehampton. From idyllic beach scenes, flower displays and hay bales to quirky portraits and unexpected finds, the images on display demonstrate the diversity of the aream and the power of photography to capture the essence of a town.
“It’s wonderful to see the results of such a great community initiative proudly on display at the Museum” said Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, Chair of Littlehampton Town Council’s Community Resources Committee. ‘Well done to everybody who took part’.
