Enquiry-Led Practice: Reflective Questioning
Monday 6 July, 09.00 – 1.00 | Online via Zoom | £109
Enquiry-Led Practice: Reflective Questioning is a reflective, insight-driven course designed to help people create conversations that deepen understanding, build connection and support meaningful collaboration.
Rooted in traditions of philosophical enquiry, this course invites participants to slow down, listen more deeply and use thoughtful questions to help others explore their ideas, assumptions and experiences. Rather than focusing on giving answers or directing solutions, enquiry-led practice encourages reflective dialogue; conversations where people feel genuinely heard, able to think aloud, and confident in reaching their own insights.
This approach has powerful applications across both learning and workplace contexts. The course is designed with creative, cultural and heritage settings in mind, and examples will reflect the kinds of learning, facilitation and collaborative conversations common in these environments.
· In learning environments, it supports deeper engagement and more autonomous thinking.
· In the workplace, it strengthens communication, reduces defensiveness and helps teams navigate complexity with greater clarity and care.
Through structured reflection and facilitated discussion, participants will explore how reflective questioning can support learning, leadership and everyday workplace conversations.
In this course, you will:
- Explore enquiry as a reflective and relational practice
- Use questioning to support thinking, problem-solving and decision-making
- Create psychologically safe spaces for reflection and dialogue
- Facilitate conversations that encourage clarity, ownership and autonomy
- Support group discussions that value diverse perspectives and quieter voices
- Practise reflective questioning in one-to-one and group settings
- Develop a calm, grounded presence in challenging or emotionally charged conversations
Key themes explored include:
- Enquiry and reflective dialogue
- Philosophical enquiry in everyday conversations
- Creative approaches to reflection and thinking
- Enquiry-led group facilitation
- Reflective supervision and coaching conversations
- Designing purposeful enquiry-led activities
Participants will have time to reflect on their own context and consider enquiry-based approaches they can use immediately in meetings, learning sessions or workplace conversations.
Why attend
This course offers a human-centred approach to communication that prioritises connection, clarity and collaboration. It is particularly valuable for those who want to move away from directive or solution-driven conversations, and instead support others to think more deeply and independently.
Participants leave with greater confidence in using reflective questioning, and a clearer sense of how enquiry can be embedded into their everyday practice.
